Dwight Gayle will return to the Newcastle squad for their Championship showdown against Norwich on Tuesday night.
Magpies manager Rafael Benitez revealed that the striker is fully recovered from injury and is set to be named in the matchday 18 for the Carrow Road fixture.
Speaking at his media conference on Monday afternoon, Benitez explained that he can call upon the leading scorer in the Championship.
“We have Dwight Gayle in the squad, so that’s good news,” said the manager, as quoted by the official Newcastle Twitter account. “It’s important to have the top scorer back, and it’s a boost for everyone.”

Gayle has been absent for the last month with a hamstring injury and has not played since the team’s 2-1 league win at Brentford on 14 January.
Nevertheless, the 26-year-old remains the leading scorer in the second tier with a haul of 20 league goals, putting him two ahead of Leeds’ Chris Wood and Bristol City’s Tammy Abraham.
Gayle’s ratio of a goal every 88 minutes of Championship action this season places him well ahead of all of his rivals to win the top scorer title in the division.
Newcastle make the trip to their fellow promotion challengers aiming to build upon their 1-0 win at Wolves on Saturday.
Benitez’s side are top of the table as they seek an instant return to the Premier League, although they are only a point ahead of Brighton in second.
In other Newcastle team news, the club could reignite their interest in this Premier League winger (not Andros Townsend).
