Jurgen Klopp is set to put the block on Rhian Brewster being loaned out by Liverpool in the first half of the new season, Football Insider can reveal.
The Merseyside giants’ boss revealed last week he was undecided about whether to loan out the striker sensation, 20, following his impressive spell at Swansea City in the second half of last season.
A Liverpool source has told Football Insider that Klopp has now made up his mind not to listen to temporary offers for Brewster in the summer transfer window.
The champions’ manager is planning re-evaluate Brewster’s situation in January depending on how he fares over the coming months.
The England Under-21 striker has attracted strong interest from multiple clubs in the Premier League and Championship this summer.
Aston Villa, Leeds United, Crystal Palace, Newcastle United, Burnley and former loan club Swansea have all registered their interest, while top-four rivals Tottenham have also been keeping close tabs on Brewster’s situation.
The rising star enjoyed a successful loan stint away from Anfield last term, scoring 11 times in 22 appearances for Championship side Swansea City.
Brewster has only played three senior Liverpool matches but is regarded as one of the outstanding young talents in England.
He won the Golden Boot at the Under-17 World Cup in 2017 and is rated by Klopp as a player capable of establishing himself in the first team in the coming years.
His progress was interrupted by a serious knee injury that robbed him of a year of his career but he has bounced back in style this year.
