Hull City are plotting a move to make Coventry City boss Mark Robins their new manager, sources have told Football Insider.  

The Tigers are on the lookout for Liam Rosenior’s replacement after he was sacked on 7 May. 

Robins has been added to the shortlist compiled by the Championship club as they step up their pursuit for a new manager. 

Hull are now likely to make contact with the 54-year-old’s representatives about the vacant position at the MKM Stadium. 

Robins is under contract with the Sky Blues until 2027 after penning a new four-year contract last year. 

Hull City could make offer for Mark Robins to replace Liam Rosenior

There was some surprise shared when Rosenior was relieved of his duties earlier this week after narrowly missing out on a playoff place. 

Hull’s owner Acun Ilicali revealed a difference of opinion over the 39-year-old's style of play was the reason behind his dismissal. 

Rosenior led the Tigers to seventh in the Championship in his first full season in charge, finishing just three points behind Norwich City. 

The Yorkshire club ended the campaign six points better off than Robins’s Coventry after they failed to win any of their final six games. 

The Sky Blues were widely praised, however, for their outstanding run to the FA Cup semi-finals, where they just lost out to Manchester United on penalties. 

Robins has done an inspired job since taking over at the CBS Arena in 2017, helping the club achieve promotion from League Two all the way up to the Championship. 

It’s those achievements that have likely prompted Hull’s hierarchy to add him to the list of potential candidates to lead their promotion charge next season.
