Hutton backs 'standout' Wallace to shine at Rangers next season after reported update
Alan Hutton has claimed a Rangers swoop for Millwall star Jed Wallace would make “good sense”.
The former Gers defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested Wallace, 27, would improve the squad at Ibrox.
Football League World claimed last week (September 10th) that the Lions ace is wanted by a whole host of English sides – as well as Old Firm duo Celtic and Rangers.
The Gers could strike a pre-contract deal with Wallace as early as January, with the English forward’s contract at The Den expiring at the end of this season.
The 27-year-old has continued his impressive form from last season into the new campaign, scoring three and assisting two in the first six Championship games.
Hutton claimed the signing of “standout” Wallace would enhance the Rangers squad – which is imperative to managing their hectic schedules.

“He’s always been a standout player at Millwall,” he told Football Insider‘s Ewan Kingsbury.
“He’s been one of the best players in the Championship this season.
“It makes really good sense – especially financially.
“Rangers will want to enhance their squad; they need players that can lighten the load for the current squad.
“The likes of Rangers and Celtic play a lot of games in a season, so they need a healthy squad.
“Bringing in players who can make the eleven even better will only help you.”
Wallace has netted 71 goals and registered 59 assists in a career that has spanned 375 games.
The hitman has adopted a more central role for Millwall this term after spending the lion’s share of last season on the right flank.
