Hutton in 'gentlemen's agreement' claim as Kane break Tottenham silence
Alan Hutton claims Harry Kane does not need to win over Tottenham fans after deciding to stay at the club.
The former Spurs star, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, reacted to the player’s latest comments.
On 31 August, Kane told TalksSPORT his “conscience is clear” after a potential move to Man City never got off the ground.
Kane will stay at Tottenham this season but missed his side’s opening game against City while his future was still up in the air.
Hutton insists Kane does not have to work hard to win the fans over as he knows exactly what happened this summer.
“I think the big issue is he knows exactly what was said behind closed doors,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.

“We don’t know the in and outs of it. Whether he was in late or whether he wasn’t.
“He knows about the gentleman’s agreement, whether there was one or not. He knows where he stands.
“We were all just speculating, if he feels that he was in the right, he probably is.
“The flip side of that is there will be a small portion of fans who didn’t like the way he went about his business.
“Does he have to win them over? Maybe. We saw the receptions he’s been getting and probably 99.9% of the fans have welcomed him back.
“We know he will score goals and as a fan you want to see your team doing as well as possible.
“Spurs are better with Kane and the fans know that. I think he went about it in a professional manner.
“He’s back training and working hard, he will give his all. I’m sure they will take to him no problem.”
