Leeds United have a “massive” problem after conceding from another set-piece against West Ham on Monday.
That is according to Alan Hutton who, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, claimed Diego Llorente was embarrassed by Craig Dawson in the Whites’ 2-0 defeat.
The Hammers’ centre-back lost the 27-year-old Spaniard to head home the opener, while he also hit the post with another header shortly after.
The 30-year-old has now netted three times in 12 Premier League appearances during his loan spell from Watford.
Hutton admitted the Irons star was a master of his craft but insisted Leeds’ defensive woes had alarm bells ringing.
Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge: “Craig Dawson does this all the time. It seems like he scores from corners all the time, at West Brom, everywhere, he does it a lot.
“It was great movement. I think he sold Llorente a dummy with his movement and then went to the back post. Yes, Llorente has to do better and it’s something he will learn.
“If you look at Leeds overall with set pieces, they’ve really struggled. It’s an area, moving forward, they are going to have to correct. Otherwise, they are going to lose a lot of goals.
“Set pieces are are massive in today’s game so he’ll learn from it. Dawson’s one of the best in the business in ghosting in at back post and getting headers.
“It’s been a little bit all over the place. If you look at the set plays they concede, you can see the backline has been a problem.”
Llorente has now started three consecutive league games for the first time for Leeds.
However, he has helped keep just one clean sheet in his five appearances so far.
