Hutton raises serious Rangers fears amid 'nightmare' Barisic news
Alan Hutton has insisted Borna Barisic’s back injury will be a real concern for Rangers ahead of the new season.
The former Gers defender, speaking to Football Insider, admitted back problems are “one of the worst” issues for a footballer to deal with.
As confirmed on Wednesday (June 16th), Barisic will miss Croatia’s clash against the Czech Republic on Friday due to a back problem.
The same problem kept the Rangers man out of the 1-0 defeat to England last weekend.
With the Light Blues set to get their season underway on July 31st, Hutton admitted Barisic’s absence would have alarm bells ringing.
“Your back and your knees are probably the worst places to injure,” Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge.

“Your back can come on with just a twist or a turn. It’s a bit of a nightmare injury so I do feel for him.
“Obviously he had an excellent season going into this tournament and probably wanted to show the world his skill set.
“Unfortunately, the back’s flared up again so from a Rangers point of view it’s not great. They would obviously want him to get over this issue and get ready and firing for the beginning of the season.
“Hopefully it’s just a tweak and he’ll play some sort of part in the tournament.”
Barisic missed just six games as he made 50 appearances for Rangers last term.
He has a total of 112 games under his belt at Ibrox, as well as 20 international caps.
