Hutton speculates Tottenham exit for Lloris as 'big name' replacement mooted
Alan Hutton claims Hugo Lloris could leave Tottenham if the club sign a “big name” goalkeeper.
The former Spurs defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, insists Lloris won’t stay at the club to be a number two.
As revealed by Football Insider, Lloris is set to stay at Tottenham next season with his contract set to expire in 12 months.
It is understood former boss Mauricio Pochettino remains in “regular contact” with the Frenchman and wanted to bring him to Paris Saint-Germain.
Lloris, 34, is the club captain and has played every minute of Tottenham’s Premier League season.
Hutton claims the stopper won’t stay at Spurs if the club looks to bring in a “big name” number one.

“It’s a position they need to strengthen,” Hutton told Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge.
“They need to bring someone in if they are to challenge for the top four. They need a big commanding goalkeeper who is good with his feet.
“Lloris has been an excellent servant, he’s a World Cup winner. He’ll want to continue playing.
“Whether he would settle for a number two role I’m not sure. That’s why I think he might move on if Tottenham look to bring in a number one.
“If they go for a big name goalkeeper, it’s for him to play. I just think Lloris is the type of guy who wants to play all the time and would look to move.”
Lloris has been an ever-present force at Tottenham since he joined the club in 2012.
Spurs signed Joe Hart last summer but his appearances have been limited to the Europa League and domestic cups.
