Hutton suggests Aribo could quit Rangers for Premier League club after Ferguson claim
Alan Hutton has suggested “a number of clubs” will be keeping tabs on Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo ahead of a potential transfer.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Gers defender insisted the 25-year-old has “all the attributes” to become a “top player” in the English Premier League.
Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show (20th September), Barry Ferguson claimed “a lot of clubs down south will be looking closely at” Aribo.
The midfielder joined the Gers on a free transfer in 2019 after leaving Charlton Athletic at the end of his contract.
However, unlike teammates Alfredo Morelos and Glen Kamara, there was little speculation over Aribo’s future this summer.
Hutton admitted the Nigeria international would have ambitions to play at the highest possible level.

He suggested there may be several clubs looking at handing him that opportunity.
Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “He’s got all the attributes to be a top player in the English League. There’s no doubt about that.
“It was a big opportunity to come up to Scotland and play for a big club on the big stage.
“I’m pretty sure he’s like every player who wants to play the highest level possible.
“What I like about him is he’s totally focused on the job in hand. You don’t really hear any of the rumours circulating him ever really.
“He’s just all about his performances for Rangers, which is a great thing. Barry Ferguson’s right, there’ll be a number of clubs watching a number of players.
“That’s just part of playing for a big club. Hopefully, he continues his form with Rangers.”
Aribo has played 104 times for Rangers to date.
His current contract expires in 2023.
