Hutton tips Aston Villa to have Smith-Rowe bid accepted after 'brilliant' Sky update

Alan Hutton has tipped Aston Villa to be successful with a new bid for Arsenal playmaker Emile Smith Rowe.

The former Villa defender, speaking exclusively to Football Insider, suggested his old side would launch a £35million offer after two unsuccessful approaches.

Sky Sports reported on Monday (June 28th) Arsenal had turned down a £30million bid from the Villans for the 20-year-old.

As revealed by Football Insider earlier in June, Villa had already had a £25million offer rebuffed.

Hutton heralded his old side’s ambition to get the promising attacking midfielder on board.

He suggested another big-money offer would be forthcoming and could tempt the Gunners into selling.

Hutton told Football Insider’s Russell Edge: “I think it’s brilliant to see from Villa. They’re just not slowing down. They’ve got their foot to the floor and going ahead with the targets they really want to bring in.

“It doesn’t matter what’s going on and what noise is happening. They want that player and they’re really going for it. Dean Smith and Johan Lange are getting backed by the owners.

“If you go in with an offer, it is knocked back and that is the highest level you’re willing to pay, that’s it. Normally that is the deal done.

“All the Aston Villa fans will be absolutely buzzing to see things like this. This is a boy where he’s only 19, 20 but so much potential moving forward. We’ve seen a lot already.

“They’ve went in with £25million, come back a week later with £30million. It would not surprise me if they come in with another £5million on top.

“He’s somebody that would excite the fans. It wouldn’t surprise me if another bid goes in and they do actually get it this time. I do believe that they will go in with another offer.”

Smith-Rowe started 26 times in 33 appearances for Arsenal last season.

The England under-21 international has played 45 times for the Gunners so far.

In other news, Aston Villa have “concrete interest” in re-signing former star from Premier League rivals.
