'I don't understand' - Exclusive: Darren Bent baffled by 'Strange' Leeds situation
Darren Bent has admitted that he is baffled by the current situation surrounding Leeds United striker Jean-Kevin Augustin.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England international admitted that he could not understand why the Whites made such a desperate move to sign the 22-year-old during the January transfer window, only for Marcelo Bielsa to leave him out of his plans so regularly.
The Frenchman has recently been sidelined with a hamstring injury, but had amassed just 48 minutes across three Championship appearances.
And Bent has revealed his bewilderment at United making a move for a player who was not ready to slot straight into the first team picture.
Speaking to Football Insider, he said: “The question marks were never about his ability, they were more attitude-wise.
“For whatever reason, he’s not really featuring. I don’t understand.

“For such a big player that everybody was raving about, why have we not really seen him yet? Again, it’s a difficult one, and it’s a tricky situation for Leeds to be in.
“At the time they needed another forward in, another body. At the same time, it’s a strange one.”
Football Insider revealed earlier in the week that Leeds will be lumbered an obligation to buy the loanee should they get promoted to the Premier League this season.
Any potential deal could cost the club a further £18 million, although is understood to be dependent on whether or the player himself is keen on making his move to England permanent.
