Alan Hutton has revealed that he loves watching Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks play after the disappointing 2-2 draw with Olympiacos.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Spurs defender revealed that he thought the 23-year-old midfielder was one of the best players for the Lilywhites against the Greek giants.
Tottenham threw away a two-goal lead against Olympiacos in their first Champions League outing of the season, with Harry Kane and Lucas Moura firing Spurs ahead in the first half.
Winks played the full 90 minutes of Spurs’ latest outing and Hutton suggested that there will be a lot of glum faces at the club as their 2-2 draw would have felt like a loss.
When asked which Tottenham player stood out for the right reasons against Olympiacos, Hutton told Football Insider: “I love Winks, I love watching him play.
“He was probably the one who kept the ball moving, I mean it was disappointing all round but Winks is probably one of the main ones who done his bit.
“When you go 2-0 up and end up drawing away from home, it feels like a loss, even though it’s away from home, so I’m pretty sure a lot of them will be feeling a bit down this morning.”
Winks has featured in all six of Spurs’ games so far this season and has completed 90 minutes on three occasions.
In his 2018/19 campaign, the Spurs midfielder played 41 times across all competitions but missed the club’s final six league games of the season due to a groin injury.
In other Tottenham news, Hutton has told Football Insider why he is worried about a big claim from one of Spurs’ star men.
