Noel Whelan has lauded Leeds United chief executive Angus Kinnear for his leadership and decision making both on and off the field at Elland Road.
The former Elland Road hitman, speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, has lifted the lid on his chats with the senior figure and his plans for the club.
The Whites revealed earlier this week that they were in the process of refunding and crediting ticket holders with games set to be played behind closed doors for the foreseeable future.

Writing in his weekly ‘programme notes’ for the Yorkshire Evening Post, Kinnear heralded the “loyal gestures” from fans who had told the club to keep the money despite the lack of live football.
Whelan, in turn, has paid tribute to the Elland Road chief for the hard work he has put into transforming the club for the better.
Whelan told Football Insider: “Leeds United have become a very, very honest club now and business, that’s a nice side of it – they’re not keeping people’s money, they know how important it is for some people to have that money in their bank right now.
“They know the implications of the money that’s being put into the club by the fans and if they can’t have it – but I’ve seen the majority of them saying keep the money and we’ll put it towards our season ticket next year. That’s how positive they feel about the club and how it’s being ran.
“It’s nice to hear that from Angus, I spoke to him last week, really, really good guy, has the best interests at heart for this club, along with the chairman and everyone else. He’s desperate to see Leeds United go up, he really is, there’s nothing more that he wants.
“Everyone’s worked so hard behind the scenes, they’re still working hard during these troubled times to be fair with the fans and fair with the club, the players and everyone in general.”
Kinnear joined the senior staff at Elland Road back in 2017 after leaving Premier League side West Ham.
A former director of marketing at Arsenal, the Leeds man played a key role in bringing current manager Marcelo Bielsa to the club.
