‘I spoke to one of my sources and this is what he told me about Man United move for Rafael Leao’
Manchester United have been keeping a close eye on Rafael Leao at AC Milan as they consider a move for the forward.
That is according to former Everton chief executive Keith Wyness, speaking to Football Insider, who has been in contact with his sources about Leao joining the Red Devils.
Champions League qualification means Man United will be looking to strengthen their squad this summer, with a new winger on their transfer list.
AC Milan could be open to letting Leao leave the club this summer, although his contract at the San Siro does not expire until 2028.
The 26-year-old could arrive at Man United alongside a new midfielder and centre-back as part of the club’s summer transfer business.

Everton’s former chief Keith Wyness – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – believes that Man United have a “very fair chance” of signing Leao in the transfer window.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast, Wyness states that the club are currently creating a narrative of having little money to spend heading into the summer.

He told Football Insider‘s Inside Track podcast: “I know that Leao has been scouted heavily by United.
“I spoke to one of my sources, and he said they’ve been out to see him quite a few times and this is one that may well happen. So this is one I would say has got a very fair chance.
“Now, again, United are playing the game at the moment of saying, oh, we haven’t got that much money, which is pretty true to a degree. But nevertheless, they want to try and get away from the narrative.
“It’s United coming in, loads of money, and so they will try and position the negotiation as good as they can for Leao, but I do hear that he is one that they like, and he could be a good pairing with Benjamin Sesko as well.”
Man United make Amad Diallo transfer decision
Leao’s potential arrival at Old Trafford could push winger Amad Diallo down the pecking order in the squad.
Diallo already faces competition from Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha for a place in the side, whilst he was positioned as a wing-back under former boss Ruben Amorim.
Former chief scout at Old Trafford Mick Brown though has told Football Insider that Man United are making no plans to sell Diallo this summer.
The Red Devils still view Diallo as a key member of the squad, despite his recent form causing some concerns.
