'I worry for Leeds' - Exclusive: Phillips claims 'big clubs" sniffing around Whites rising star
Elite Premier League clubs are interested in signing Leeds United loanee Ben White in the summer window.
That is according to ex-England striker Kevin Phillips, speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Russell Edge about the defensive rising star.
The 46-year-old, who had spells on the coaching staff at Leicester City, Derby County and Stoke after the end of his playing days, explained how the “big clubs” have been keeping close tabs on a player he rates highly.
Whites has been instrumental in Leeds’ promotion charge this season and he is on the radar of the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United.
“If they don’t go up, he’ll be playing Premier League football next year, without a shadow of a doubt,” Phillips told Football Insider.
“If Leeds don’t go up I would worry for them because he’s certainly playing Premier League football next season.

“We all know there’s big clubs sniffing around him and he’s a fantastic talent.”
White has only played twice for the Brighton first team and had spent the previous two campaigns on loan in League One and League Two at Peterborough United and Newport County respectively.
But the centre-back has made a huge impact in his first season in the English second tier, starting all 30 of United’s league matches to date.
Remarkably, he has also played every single minute of the Championship campaign to date.
In other Leeds United news, it can be REVEALED that the club are set to announce a blockbuster deal this month after extensive negotiations.
