Ian Holloway believes Aston Villa will not be able to add to their victory against Rotherham on Saturday as he backs Huddersfield to hold them to a draw on Tuesday evening.
Sky Sports pundit Holloway has backed the Terriers to open the scoring at Villa Park, as both teams come off a win from their previous Championship fixture.
Jack Payne scored the winning goal at St James Park as David Wagner’s side recorded a 2-1 win, with Holloway predicting more success for Huddersfield at the home of the Midlands club.
“They go to Villa with Roberto Di Matteo’s side coming into this one on the back of their first win – a 3-0 victory over Rotherham,” said Holloway in his Sky Sports column. “They have got that monkey off their back but I don’t think they’ll follow it up with another one.
“Huddersfield are playing so well at the moment and I’m backing them to keep going with a draw at Villa Park. Nahki Wells can also carry on his fine form by grabbing the first goal.
“They have done much better than I expected, but now I look at it they’ve made some excellent signings.
“Jack Payne is a player I was raving about last year and he scored the winner at Newcastle on Saturday.
“Well done to their owner and the manager! It’s a fantastic start – and it’s only a start – but well done to them.”
Huddersfield have a 100 per cent record in the Championship so far this season, having beaten Brentford in their opening game, as they travel to Villa Park to continue that run.
Meanwhile, Villa picked up their first win since February, with Di Matteo picking up his first victory as manager following back-to-back defeats.
In other Aston Villa team news, Jack Grealish picked up this award for his performance against Rotherham on Saturday.
