Ian Wright delivers verdict on Celtic ace Kieran Tierney
By Dominic Toner
Ian Wright believes that Celtic defender Kieran Tierney is a fantastic player amid speculation Arsenal are considering a move for him.
The Daily Telegraph claim that the 19-year-old is being closely monitored by the Premier League club ahead of a summer move.
The report details that the future over senior Gunners pair Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs are in doubt, and Tierney is being eyed as a potential replacement.
Arsene Wenger wants to stay at the north London club beyond the end of this season and is plotting a huge overhaul of his under performing squad.
Ex-Arsenal forward Wright, who also had a very brief spell with Celtic, had admitted he is impressed by the quality of the Bhoys’ teenage sensation.

“Tierney looks really impressive,” Wright said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun. “I saw Arsenal were linked with him. He was one of the players on Arsene Wenger’s wishlist. He looks pretty useful.”
Tierney has developed into a crucial player for Brendan Rodgers’ side and has made 31 appearances this season across all competitions, despite missing a spell through injury.
The left-back is a solid defender and is particularly impressive going forward, chipping in with 12 assists this campaign.
He has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the past couple of seasons following his graduation from the club’s academy and is now even a regular starter for his country.
The Scotland international has three senior caps so far and showed his versatility by filling in superbly well at right on Sunday, when Gordon Strachan’s side beat Slovenia 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier.
In other Celtic transfer news, the club’s player has been offered a £100,000-a-week contract.
