Ibrox Exclusive: McNamara suggests writing on the wall for reportedly in-demand Rangers player

Jackie McNamara claimed that Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham looked like he was definitely exiting Ibrox in the near future.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider correspondent Laura O’Leary, the former Scotland international admitted the 28-year-old looked exit-bound due to the club still not sorting out a new contract for him.

It was recently reported that Foderingham was in-demand with Championship side Middlesbrough weighing up a move for him.

McNamara acknowledged that due to Foderingham likely wanting game time and it being difficult for him to be a No.2, he could envision the goalkeeper leaving.

“Foderingham is out of contract at the end of the season so they need to sort him out or get another keeper in,” McNamara told Football Insider.

“But they’ve got McCrorie who is out on loan, so they have got enough players in that position.

“It looks that way (when asked if he definitely is exit-bound), he’ll want game time, he’ll want to play.

“It just depends on what he wants in his career but it’s difficult as he was No.1 before.”

Foderingham has only played four times for Steven Gerrard’s side across all competitions this season, with him managing to keep three clean sheets in the process.

The London-born shot-stopper has been at Ibrox since joining from Swindon Town in 2015 and he has played a total of 142 times for the Gers.

In other Rangers news, it can be REVEALED that the club have opened preliminary talks on signing Premier League player in January.
