Rangers are keeping close tabs on Dunfermline Athletic hotshot Kevin Nisbet ahead of January, Football Insider understands.
The Scottish giants have been alerted to the potential of the forward, 22, who has scored 10 goals this season for the Championship side.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the club are compiling a dossier on Nisbet and are planning to make regular scouting missions to assess him in the coming months.
He is regarded as a forward with a real eye for goal and capable of taking his prolific form into the Scottish Premiership.
Nisbet began his career at Partick Thistle after graduating from their youth system.
He made 17 Scottish Premiership appearances at the club but was released in the summer of 2018 following their relegation to the Championship.
The striker reignited his career by dropping down a division to join Raith Rovers and banged in 34 goals from 46 matches in all competitions last season as they finished third in the league.
Nisbet moved back up a division to Dunfermline over the summer and
Dunfermline are sixth in the Championship table after 12 matches of the campaign, a long way off the promotion chasers Dundee United and Ayr United.
Rangers are in the market for a new striker as they look to reinforce their attack in the next two transfer windows amid doubts over the long-term future of Alfredo Morelos.
Jermain Defoe’s 18-month loan from Bournemouth is also due to expire at the end of the season.
