Allan McGregor is on course to complete a hat-trick of new Rangers player deals later this month.
The Glasgow giants had set their stall this autumn on tying senior trio McGregor, Nikola Katic and Ryan Jack to new contracts.
Jack and Katic have both penned extensions in recent weeks and been handed significant pay rises, and McGregor is now set to follow suit.
Ibrox sources have told Football Insider that the goalkeeper, 37, is set for a one-year extension that will be triggered when he has made a set number of appearances in this campaign.
That number is believed to be around the 25-match mark, a target McGregor is on course to hit by the end of November.
He has already made 22 appearances this season and conceded just 12 goals, completing his 13th clean sheet in Thursday’s memorable Europa League triumph over Porto.
Should McGregor stay fit and not be rested, he is set to hit the 25-game milestone when Rangers travel to Feyenoord on 28 November for their next Europa League challenge.
League fixtures against Livingston and Hamilton come first, matches Steven Gerrard is likely to want his number one in goal for as Rangers look to keep up the title pace.
McGregor has played some of the best football of his career since returning to Rangers for a second spell in the summer of 2018 on a free transfer from Hull City.
He has started all but six matches in goal and proved to be one of the most inspired signings of ex-recruitment chief Mark Allen.
In total, McGregor has made 324 appearances for Rangers and has a trophy cabinet that includes three league titles at the club.
