‘I’ll drive him to the next club’ - Leeds fans react to journalist claim that Bellusci move is in doubt
By Derek Smithson
Reliable journalist Phil Hay has revealed that Giuseppe Bellusci’s departure from Leeds is in “doubt” – and the club’s supporters have rallied on Twitter to show they want the defender to leave in the summer.
Yorkshire Evening Post correspondent Hay explained on his personal Twitter account that the 27-year-old may not be making a permanent move to Italian club Empoli in the summer window.
It is understood that Empoli’s relegation from Serie A has cast doubt over whether the centre-back will making his season-long loan move a permanent one.

Bellusci’s agent told TuttoMercatoWeb in April that the Italian defender could join Empoli next season when his loan deal expires.
Leeds fans have made it clear on social media that they don’t want Bellusci back at the club for next season, with one person even offering to drive him to his next destination.

Bellusci has become a hugely unpopular figure with Whites fans since his arrival in 2014 and spent this season out on loan, where he was unable to prevent Empoli’s relegation from the Italian top flight.
The defender is renowned for his sloppy mistakes and for also being extremely rash with his challenges, picking up 26 yellow cards in just 61 appearances this morning.
Leeds may need an extra centre-back for next campaign as loanee Kyle Bartley returns to Swansea, but fans have quickly ruled out giving Bellusci another chance.
In other Leeds transfer news, QPR have entered the race to sign Exeter youngster Ollie Watkins.
