The calls for Tom Rogic to be given a new contract by Celtic will be getting louder by the minute, after the 25-year-old turned in yet another sublime performance for the Hoops.
The Australian’s sensational swerving crossfield pass to Moussa Dembele set up the Hoops’ second goal, in a match which was won 3-1 by the Bhoys.
The player’s contract runs out at the end of next season, and as yet he hasn’t indicated if he will sign a new long-term deal with the Bhoys.
Brendan Rodgers doesn’t seem to be losing any sleep over the matter though, as he recently revealed, as reported by the Telegraph, that he was ‘relaxed’ about his contract situation.
That doesn’t appear to be the case with the Hoops support though, who seem genuinely fearful that the player will decide to leave after the summer’s World Cup.
Rogic’s pass to Dembele was one no one else in Scottish football would have even contemplated playing, and it is exactly the sort of technique which would catch the eye of any clubs that are interested in signing the player.
It is imperative that the player is tied down to the Hoops for another few seasons at least, as he would be incredibly difficult to replace, as his talent doesn’t come along very often.
