'Incredible' - Chris Sutton delivers verdict on crucial Celtic change
By Danny Wright
Chris Sutton has dubbed Brendan Rodgers’ debut season at Celtic as “incredible” considering the way they were left at the end of last season.
Ronny Deila failed to have anywhere near the stranglehold on Scottish football as the fans would have hoped and despite winning the Scottish Premiership title, his reputation was tarnished by a loss to Rangers who were a league below at the time.
Sutton has hinted that he was expecting the Light Blues to offer a big challenge to Celtic’s chance of a sixth league title in a row.
However he has admitted that he was surprised with just how well Rodgers managed to improve the Hoops squad since the crucial change of leadership last year.
“Nobody could’ve foreseen this,” said the former Celtic striker, in a video on BT Sport Football’s official Twitter account.

“At the end of last season the club was in a mess. They had been humiliated in the cup by Rangers and everybody thought it was going to be a close title race.
“For Brendan Rodgers to come in and transform this team, this squad, in such short space of time is incredible.”
"Nobody could've foreseen this!"
"Celtic have been a credit to the league!"

Celtic completed the Scottish treble last week with a last-gasp victory against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final to add to the Scottish League Cup and Premiership trophies they had already lifted.
Rodgers had also led his men to an unbeaten domestic campaign and only drew four of their 47 matches against any other team in Scotland.
The signings of Moussa Dembele and Scott Sinclair proved inspirational for the Hoops and the form of players like Callum McGregor, Patrick Roberts and Stuart Armstrong also drastically improved.
In other Celtic news, Steven Naismith has said how Rangers can catch up with Rodgers’ men.
