Mathieu Flamini has been ruled out of Arsenal's Premier League trip to Everton with a hamstring injury.

Arsene Wenger revealed at his media briefing on Friday morning that Flamini is sidelined with the injury sustained in Wednesday's Champions League defeat to Barcelona.

Arsenal crashed out of Europe's premier competition three days after Watford knocked them out of the FA Cup to leave their silverware hopes this season resting upon clawing back an 11-point gap on leaders Leicester.

Flamini started in central midfield alongside Mohamed Elneny in midweek but was substituted at half-time, when he was replaced by Francis Coquelin.

"We lost Flamini - his hamstring," Wenger said on Friday. "He’s out for tomorrow. Everybody else is available. There will be a check up this morning."

Wenger is now likely to start Elneny and Coquelin in central midfield at Goodison Park on Saturday.
