'Like a new player' – Fans react as Rangers ace stars for country after return from injury
Rangers left-back Declan John made his return from injury in Tuesday's international friendly between Wales and Mexico in Pasadena, California - and fans were delighted with the Welshman's performance for Ryan Giggs' side.
John missed the final weeks of the season after suffering a broken hand following a fall but made his return as a half-time substitute in the 0-0 draw at the Rose Bowl.
Fans of the Gers and Wales were impressed with John's display in the World Cup warm-up for the Mexicans - with one saying the former Cardiff City star could smash the record fee the Ibrox giants have received.
Here are some of their comments on Twitter:
John joined Rangers last August on a season-long loan deal before making his move permanent in January when he penned a long-term contract.
The Welshman was a regular feature in the starting XI last season after Lee Wallace's injury ruled him out for much of the campaign.
John will almost certainly be a big part of the side next season when Steven Gerrard takes the reins on Friday and looks to end Celtic's recent domination of the Scottish Premiership.
The 22-year-old made 31 appearances for the Gers last season, scoring three times and contributing four assists, as the Light Blues struggled to a third-place finish in the league table.
