Liverpool striker Danny Ings has scored his first goal for the Reds since suffering a cruciate ligament injury in October - and fans of the Merseyside club have expressed their joy for the England striker.

The 23-year-old came on at half-time in Liverpool's first pre-season match, as the striker scored a 78th minute winning goal with the Reds beating Tranmere 1-0.

Liverpool signed the England international after he impressed for Burnley during the 2014-15 season, where he scored 11 Premier League goals.

Ings is seen as a good fit for Klopp's high intensity brand of football, as he plays with great energy both offensively and defensively.

The striker will be competing for a place with Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi and possibly an incoming striker as Klopp attempts to sell Christian Benteke.

Here are a selection of Tweets from Liverpool fans reacting to Ings' goal:

The Reds missed the former Bournemouth striker in the recently completed season, as they finished in a disappointing 8th place while Sturridge finished as the clubs top scorer in all competitions with 13 goals after playing in just 25 fixtures.
