Massive Everton blow as injury could spell end of career at Goodison - report

Published on

Everton have been dealt a massive blow with the news that January transfer signing Eliaquim Mangala's career at the Toffees could already be over, according to a report.

has reported that the defender, who only moved to the club from Manchester City on deadline day, picked up a knee injury in the side's 3-1 win over Crystal Palace last week. French international, Mangala, was substituted shortly before the end of the first-half after he fell oddly and as a result, had to leave the field of play. There are concerns that the 27-year-old will now be out of action until the end of the season after damaging ligaments. This will effectively end the player's time at Goodison Park after agreeing a six-month loan spell with Everton in January that would see him remain at the Merseyside outfit until the summer. 27-year-old Mangala had wanted to use the loan switch to Everton to boost his chances of getting a permanent move away from the champions-elect after finding first team opportunities hard to come by. It is been a bad week for the Blues off the pitch after it also emerged that Sandro Ramirez wanted to leave the club permanently. In other Everton news,
