Pierre-Michael Lasogga could join Caleb Ekuban in missing Leeds United's Championship clash against Burton Albion on Saturday, according to a report.

The Yorkshire Evening Post claim Ekuban is facing at least eight weeks on the sidelines after undergoing surgery on a broken bone in his foot.

It is said that Lasogga’s prospects of making his United debut against Burton Albion on Saturday, are also hanging in the balance.

The on-loan Hamburg forward’s partner is due to give birth to their first child this weekend.

German Lasogga and Ghanian Ekuban were among four new strikers signed by Leeds this summer, with Swede Pawel Cibicki and Dutchman Jay-Roy Grot making up the quartet.

Lasogga, 25, is the most senior of the quartet after extensive experience in the Bundesliga and is expected to be first choice to spearhead the attack following the £15million sale of Chris Wood to Burnley.

Ahead of Leeds' Championship clash against Burton on Saturday, it appears that Grot and Cibicki could not come into contention to lead the front line.

Ekuban is expected to be absent until at least November after suffering his foot injury in the team's 2-0 win at Sunderland on 19 August.

In other Leeds United transfer news, the club have secured an out of window striker signing after agreeing the terms of a deal.
