Tottenham midfielder Harry Winks' ankle injury is not feared to be serious after undergoing a scan on Monday, according to a report.

Sky Sports claims that the results show that Winks, 21, has not suffered any damage to his ligaments after twisting his ankle in the win against Crystal Palace at Wembley on Sunday.

It's the second time this year that Winks has suffered an ankle injury on both of his feet with the first time being at Burnley in April which ruled him out of action for a good chunk of the summer.

The playmaker is one of three Spurs players to have withdrawn from the current England squad to play Germany and Brazil in friendlies during the current international break.

Harry Kane and Dele Alli have also been forced out after suffering minor injury blows that aren't thought to be serious enough to consider them out of contention to play against Arsenal when Premier League action resumes next weekend.

Winks though was a doubt, and this latest news from Sky Sports is no doubt a major boost to the player and for Mauricio Pochettino, who has relied upon the academy product to step up to the first-team in the absence of Mousa Dembele and Victor Wanyama.
