Tottenham delivered an update on the fitness of key centre-back Toby Alderweireld on Friday lunchtime.

They posted a picture of Alderweireld training and confirmed that he continues to rehab on his hamstring injury with outside work.

The update was posted on the official Tottenham twitter page ahead of the Saturday clash with Huddersfield.

Alderweireld is not in the squad for Saturday's Premier League clash.

This follows confirmation from manager Mauricio Pochettino that the player will not be fit for Tottenham's Champions League clash against Juventus on March 7.

Asked whether Alderweireld would be fit Pochettino replied, as quoted in the Guardian, that he wasn't training with the first team and that the "answer is clear".

Alderweireld has only made 17 appearances for Tottenham this season and hasn't played in the Premier League since October.

He made his comeback in two FA Cup games against Newport and Rochdale but aggravated his hamstring and has since been back in rehab.
