Manuel Lanzini has picked up a knock in the 2-0 win against Italy on Friday, according to a reliable journalist.

Injury specialist Ben Dinnery, who works for ESPN among others, reported the news on Sunday evening.

He said that Lanzini would miss Argentina's friendly against Spain on Tuesday but didn't say if it would impact the game against Southampton on Saturday.

Lanzini scored for Argentina in the 2-0 win against Italy, getting on the score sheet in the 85th minute.

It was his third cap for his country, second start and first goal.

Football Insider verdict:

Lanzini has suffered from injuries this season and they've stopped hm having the same impact he did last season. He is, however, an integral part of the West Ham team and would be a massive loss against Southampton, in a game that David Moyes really has to win. It's a been a tough season for West Ham fans and the last thing they need is to lose any more attackers to injury.
