Insider: Lo Celso is 'doing everything to leave' Tottenham in January

Giovanni Lo Celso is playing like “he’s doing everything to leave” Tottenham after producing another poor display.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Lo Celso, 25, was handed a rare start when Tottenham faced Morecambe in the FA Cup on Sunday (9 January).

He played 88 minutes as Spurs fought from a goal down to beat the Shrimps 3-1.

Wenham was left fuming with another uninspiring performance from the left footer.

“Lo Celso did absolutely nothing against Morecambe,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“It’s incredible, the lack of power he gets on his shots is just unbelievable.

“He’s so weak and he can’t even beat the first man from corners. His deliveries were so poor.

“He got an opportunity and yet again he did nothing to suggest he is worth keeping around which was just so disappointing to see.

“It’s almost like he’s doing everything to leave and we should let that happen this window.

“Another utter waste of money from the club on a man who plays more for Argentina than he does for us.

“It’s so frustrating because he came with such high hopes. We need to make sure transfers like his don’t happen again.”

Lo Celso has only started twice in the Premier League this season.

He has only scored one goal and provided two assists in 17 appearances in all competitions this term.
