Insider: Senior Tottenham figures 'should be sacked' after Alasdair Gold reveal
Tottenham should have sacked whoever signed off on first-team transfers before Fabio Paratici’s arrival at the club.
That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.
On 18 November, Alasdair Gold reported Paratici and Steve Hitchen are leading an overhaul of Tottenham’s scouting set-up.
Wenham was delighted to hear the news after being left disappointed with the club’s transfer dealings over the last three years.
He insists Paratici should take a leaf out of the academy’s book because of their “outstanding” recruitment record.
“Our youth level scouting has been outstanding for a number of years,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“You have to look at the signings of Troy Parrot and Maksim Paskotsi, who have both earned ten caps for the countries while with us.
“Alfie Devine is our outstanding young talent and he came in from Wigan for just £400,000.
“That’s been very, very good. our senior recruitment has been quite the opposite.
“You just need to look at that 2019 summer window. That was £140million thrown down the drain on Ndmobele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon and Clarke.
“What return have we seen from those signings? The people who signed them should be sacked.
“In any other line of work you would be sacked if you lost that amount of money.
“We had a great last summer transfer wise. So hopefully this is a sign that things will continue to improve.”
Tottenham made Ndombele their record signing in the summer of 2019.
However, he has only contributed to 18 goals in 86 appearances.
