Insider: Skipp is from 'family of mad Tottenham fans' and will lead team for next 10 years
Tottenham insider John Wenham wants to see Oliver Skipp become the beating heart of the club for the next decade.
Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels, reacted to the latest on the midfielder.
On 18 September, The Sun reported Tottenham will hand Skipp a new contract worth £40,000 per week after emerging as a key player under Nuno Espirito Santo.
It is reported the deal will run until 2025.
Skipp, 21, has made six appearances in all competitions for Spurs this season and his current deal is set to expire in 2024.
He spent last season on loan at Norwich and played himself into the Championship team of the year.

Wenham is a huge fan of Skipp and wants him to lead the club over the coming years.
“Skipp is an outstanding young prospect,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.
“I hope he becomes the bedrock of the Tottenham side for the next decade, he could do that. He comes from a family of mad Tottenham fans, he cares about the club.
“He went to Norwich, earned his stripes, got in the Championship team of the year and started our first three fixtures which we won.
“Skipp has added some real steel in the midfield alongside Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
“Obviously from next year he will count as a homegrown player as well.
“For me, it makes so much sense to tie him down.”
Skipp has been at Tottenham since 2013.
He has also played for various England youth levels and is a regular for the Under 21s.
