Insider: Tottenham have 'huge week coming up' after Joe Lewis update reported

It is “beyond concerning” that Tottenham are yet to sign a player this month.

That is according to Spurs insider John Wenham, who regularly breaks news about the club on his Lilywhite Rose social media channels.

Tottenham are yet to see any arrivals or departures this month.

As per The Telegraph last Friday, (7 January) Joe Lewis and Daniel Levy are currently in the Bahamas.

Wenham vented his frustration Levy and Fabio Paratici, questioning what the latter has been doing since the summer transfer window closed.

“At the time I’m speaking it’s 10 January,” Wenham told Football Insider correspondent Ben Wild.

“Where are the signings? We are a third of the way through the window and no one is here, that is beyond concerning.

“Son is injured and we’re going into a massive few weeks with two games against Chelsea and games against Arsenal and Leicester.

“What is going on? Paratici has been in here since the summer, why hasn’t he spent the last three months tying up deals?

“Everton have already made two signings, Aston Villa have Coutinho. We aren’t even close to doing anything.

“The squad selected against Morecambe tells me there is no one on the verge of leaving and by that logic I don’t think there is anyone close to joining.

“It really worries me, we have a huge week coming up. Once again it looks like we will be shopping at lastminute.com.

“Levy is out in the Bahamas, what is happening? We need players now.”
