'Is he good enough?' - Exclusive: Danny Mills questions Tottenham player after transfer reveal
Danny Mills has claimed that Tottenham midfielder Giovani Lo Celso must do more to prove that he is the man to replace Christian Eriksen.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former England international suggested that the Argentine has the potential to be a top player but needed to be show his talent against some of the bigger clubs in the top flight.
Spurs confirmed on Tuesday that they had exercised the option to convert the playmaker’s loan-to-buy deal into a permanent transfer from Real Betis.
That update followed the announcement that Christian Eriksen has completed a switch to Inter Milan.
But despite a man of the match showing from Lo Celso against Norwich City last week, Mills still wants to see more from the 23-year-old.
“He’s a good player,” he told Football Insider. “Undoubted ability.

“The difference is, there’s a difference between doing it against Norwich as opposed to doing it against Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Wolves, whoever it may be.
“Is he good enough to be a replacement for Christian Eriksen?”
Lo Celso endured a stuttering start to life in England after suffering a hip injury earlier in the season, but has been a regular in recent weeks, appearing in each of Spurs’ last six Premier League matches.
So far, 20 appearances in all competitions have yielded two goals and no assists for the South American.
