'Shocking' - Exclusive: Danny Mills reacts to Twitter rant from senior Leeds man

Danny Mills has defended Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani over his Twitter rant about “shocking” referee Darren England.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Whites defender claimed that he saw nothing wrong with the Italian’s outburst, provided it was not a personal attack on the official.

Radrizzani took to Twitter at half time of Leeds’ 3-2 midweek win over Millwall, with his side still trailing, to bemoan the unacceptable standard of refereeing.

The owner suggested that the officiating on display was some of the worst he had seen in his time with the Whites, and was evidently incensed with England.

Mills believes that he was well within his right to question the ref, even if he is in a position of authority at Elland Road.

“He’s not the manager,” he told Football Insider. “He’s the owner, he’s a fan.

“He’s not said anything spiteful. Is he not allowed a view? Is he not allowed an opinion?

“I think as long as that doesn’t call into question the integrity of the referee.

“As long as it’s relative, it’s not personal – but he was, he was shocking.

United had to rely on a second half comeback to see of the Lions, with goals coming from Patrick Bamford and Pablo Hernandez.

The result meant that Marcelo Bielsa’s men reclaimed their spot at the top of the Championship, with West Brom dropping points again, this time in a 2-1 defeat against Cardiff City.
