'Is the writing is on the wall?' - Hutton believes Spurs int'l has held crunch talks with Jose
Alan Hutton says he believes there have been crunch talks between Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho and defender Danny Rose over the player’s future.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider assistant editor Russell Edge, the former Spurs and Scotland defender says he feels that something has happened behind closed doors after the full-back’s lack of game time.
Mourinho has said that Rose will be out of action for a couple of weeks due to a fitness issue, although the England international has not been used much by the Portuguese boss since his arrival.
Hutton says things do not seem right for the 29-cap international and says he thinks a conversation has taken place which has resulted in him falling down the pecking order.
Hutton told Football Insider: “He’s not played a lot really and I’m just wondering is the writing is on the wall then?
“I’m wondering if they’ve had a conversation, as with the other contract boys that haven’t signed and maybe he’s said to his manager, obviously not to the press, his time’s up there and he’s looking to move on.

“I’m just wondering if there’s something like that in the background because he hasn’t played a lot and I think he’s a fantastic player.
“I get it if they’re saying there’s an injury but I’ve got a feeling there’s just something else there. I think there’s been a conversation and maybe he feels his time’s up.”
Rose has featured just twice in the Premier League since Mourinho took charge in north London, both coming as a cameo off the substitutes’ bench.
However, he did play the full 90 minutes in the club’s two Champions League games under the Portuguese boss.
In other Tottenham news, Paul Robinson has claimed that one senior Spurs star is not enjoying his role under Mourinho.
