Celtic midfielder Tom Rogic has signed a new five-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2023 and fans are beside themselves.

The 25-year-old has enjoyed a great season with Celtic, despite missing a big chunk through injury, but fans were concerned that he was planning to leave after rejecting an earlier contract offer.

With Australia in the World Cup finals this summer, fans were worried that he was looking to put himself in the shop window, but all their fears have been assuaged now.

Rogic joined Celtic from Australian side Central Coast in 2013 for around £430,000 and went back to Australia in a six-month loan stint at Melbourne.

Since then he’s become a fan favourite and a key part of the Brendan Rodgers revolution.

This season he’s scored eight goals and added nine assists in 40 games, and has a knack of coming good in the big games, with four of his nine goals coming against Rangers.
