Eberechi Eze is understood to have agreed personal terms with Tottenham as he looks to seal a move from Crystal Palace.

Eze has been linked with Spurs and Arsenal throughout the summer transfer window as the north London rivals look to strengthen their attacking options.

However, former Spurs scout Mick Brown told Football Insider Tottenham are closing in on a deal for the England international.

There was some surprise after Arsenal decided not to activate Eze’s release clause before it expired.

The 27-year-old was available for £68million, but the deadline is believed to have passed following the start of the new season.

Tottenham impress as 'amazing' twist on the cards

This article contains exclusive comment from Keith Wyness, former Everton, Aston Villa and Aberdeen CEO.

Tottenham are looking to replace James Maddison after he suffered an interior cruciate ligament injury, while former captain Son Heung-min has joined Los Angeles FC

Thomas Frank wants to add to his attacking options after making a move to sign Eze, with Spurs set to feature in the Champions League this season.

Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast, Wyness said: “Eze has become more impressive in recent weeks, hasn't he?

“It does appear that this is all going to happen. I think it's a great signing for Spurs if they get him.

“Spurs have got a chance here to put together a great little squad. If they can get a couple of these, if they get Savinho across the line, if they get Nathan Collins from Brentford, they can have a very fast team.

“I think Micky van de Ven is still the fastest player in the Premier League. If they're building it around speed, that would be amazing for Spurs to do that.

“I do think he's going to go to Spurs. Personal terms have apparently been agreed if we're to read everything.

“So, yes, I think he's one of the top signings and he now seems to be to me maturing better than ever. He's a real quality player and I think he's an exciting one to watch.

“He's one of those that will get you out of your seat, so I think it's a great signing.”

Tottenham stance on Aleksandar Mitrovic deal revealed

In terms of other transfer activity, Brown told Football Insider Tottenham are unlikely to pursue a move for Aleksandar Mitrovic

Leeds United had been heavily linked with the 30-year-old, but they have now signed former Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin on a free transfer.

Mitrovic could leave Al-Hilal this summer after they signed Darwin Nunez from Liverpool.
