West Brom and Republic of Ireland winger James McClean fans has hailed the Celtic fans’ rendition of ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ before the clash against Bayern Munich at Parkhead on Tuesday as “simply beautiful”.

McClean, 28, makes no secret of his support for the Hoops and is widely tipped to play for the Glasgow giants in the future due to the alignment of his political beliefs.

On Tuesday night, the former Wigan flyer watched on as Celtic narrowly lost 2-1 to Bayern Munich in the Champions League and it seems that the fans signing the famous song pre-match for the hairs standing up on the back of McClean’s neck.

He posted his thoughts on his personal Instagram account on his story ahead of kick-off.

McClean was a regular starter for West Brom last term but appears to have dropped down the pecking order for Tony Pulis this season after the summer transfer window closed.

The Derry-born winger has made just two starts for the Baggies in the Premier League which came in the first two games of the campaign, but since then he has found himself named on the bench in the last eight fixtures.

Celtic’s loss to Bayern means that Brendan Rodgers’ side can no longer qualify for the knock-out rounds for the competition in the New Year and their only hope of extended European football now lies in dropping into the Europa League.

In other Celtic news, Bayern Munich legend Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has also given his thoughts on the Bhoys supporters.
