Jamie Carragher: This is what Everton supporters think of Lukaku after his comments
By Amir Mir
Jamie Carragher has stated that a lot of Everton fans agree with Romelu Lukaku’s comments regarding the club’s ambitions.
The 23-year-old striker recently rejected a new deal at the club and was clear that he doesn’t just want to be remembered for scoring goals, but winning trophies too.
Lukaku has scored 19 Premier League goals this season and following his comments about the club, his future at Goodison Park will now be put into question.
His contract on Merseyside runs until 2019 and Ronald Koeman will be hoping he can be a part of the club’s long-term plans of aiming to play Champions League football.
Former Liverpool defender Carragher delivered his verdict on the Lukaku saga and was clear in why Lukaku snubbed a new deal.

“This isn’t a money issue; it’s about the Champions League and winning trophies — and that came through in his interview on Thursday,” Carragher told the Daily Mail. “In this day and age, Lukaku should be commended for that. And a lot of Evertonians I have spoken to agree with him.”
Koeman will be planning for a home clash against Premier League strugglers Hull City on Saturday afternoon.
Lukaku has scored eight goals in his last five matches at Goodison Park and he will be looking to add to that tally against the Tigers.
It remains to be seen what sort of reception the home supporters will give to Lukaku after his comments, but they will be aware that three points will see them leapfrog sixth-placed Manchester United in the table.
Tottenham striker Harry Kane is joint top scorer with Lukaku but with the England international out injured, this gives Lukaku an ideal opportunity to lead the scoring charts.
In other Everton news, these four youngsters should start against Hull.
