It seems highly unlikely that Celtic’s on-loan signing from Chelsea in January, Charly Musonda, will start for the Bhoys when they visit Ibrox on Sunday, but the Belgian will have the X factor for the Hoops off the bench.
In the 21-year-old’s appearances for the Hoops, his ability to keep the ball has been one of his greatest assets – and that could help the Hoops in a few ways at Ibrox.
If the Bhoys are holding on to the lead and are looking to run down the clock in the corners, Musonda seems like the ideal player to do that.
That skill could also provide useful if the Hoops are looking for a goal, as ball retention will be very popular to keep the Bhoys on the attack.
His link-up play could also be vital, as the player has the ability to get the ball between the midfield and attack, and find space to provide the likes of Moussa Dembele and Odsonne Edouard.
It was always going to take Musonda time to settle in at a new club, and he has only showed glimpses of his abilities, but one glimpse could be the difference between victory and defeat, and Musonda is a more than useful option to have for the Bhoys.
