'Jealous' Liverpool critics lambasted as 'insane' footage emerges - expert
Premier League rivals are showing “jealousy and envy” towards Liverpool after their parade through the city centre last Sunday (29 May), according to Gabby Agbonlahor.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the ex-Aston Villa and England attacker insisted there was no problem with Liverpool celebrating despite losing the Champions League final the day before.
The Reds finished the 2021-22 season with the FA Cup and EFL Cup but finished runners-up in the Premier League and Champions League.
As quoted by club media on the day, assistant manager Pep Ljinders described the scenes as “insane” and the “best remedy” after the loss to Real Madrid at the Stade de France.
“I don’t see any problem with it,” Agbonlahor told Football Insider correspondent Connor Whitley.
“They were on for a quadruple and won a double. Yes, people will try and play it down and say it’s just the domestic cups but they’ve still won the Carabao Cup and FA Cup. There’s no harm in at all.

“The Liverpool fans are celebrating those two trophies and how close they got in the league and how well they did in the Champions League. Just because they lost in those two, they did very well in those two competitions.
“Their fans aren’t going to hold that against them, they still want to celebrate that and I’ve got no problem with that at all.
“The clubs and their fans are showing a bit of jealousy and envy towards Liverpool.”
Jurgen Klopp has now won all three major domestic trophies, the Champions League, the Super Cup and the Club World Cup as Liverpool manager.
They lost the 2016 Europa League final under the German and have not won the Community Shield under him.
