Jesse Lingard signing could lead to big-name exit from West Ham after report - Campbell
Kevin Campbell has claimed the signing of Jesse Lingard could lead to the departure of Jarrod Bowen from West Ham.
Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Arsenal and Everton striker suggested the Hammers would be more open to losing Bowen, 25, if they secure Lingard’s signature.
According to Claret and Hugh (29 March), Lingard is favouring a move to the London Stadium over Newcastle United this summer.
Both clubs failed in January moves for the attacking midfielder.
Lingard is set to become a free agent with his contract at Old Trafford expiring at the end of June.
When asked by Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs if Lingard’s arrival could persuade Bowen and Rice to stay, Campbell said: “No.

“Those players have to look after themselves.
“Whoever West Ham decide to bring in this summer, whether it be Lingard or an even bigger name, Bowen and Rice could leave. If somebody stumps up the right money, I think West Ham would sell Rice or Bowen.
“If that money doesn’t arrive though I think they will keep them. It would not be a problem.
“Lingard would add another attacking threat though. He can score and create. He doesn’t play in the same position as Bowen but he can do. Lingard can play anywhere across the front.
“If he came in, perhaps they’d be more open to the idea of losing Bowen. Teams will test West Ham for Bowen this summer. He is highly thought of.”
