Aston Villa ace Jhon Duran has publicly apologised to fans after their frustrating 2-1 League Cup defeat to Crystal Palace on Wednesday (October 30).

The 20-year-old continued his remarkable run of form, canceling out Eberechi Eze's eighth-minute opener with a typically well-placed finish.

Unfortunately for Duran and Villa, Daichi Kamada struck in the 64th minute, securing a win that knocked them out of a competition they had a real chance of winning.

With only his second full 90 minutes under his belt, Duran now averages a goal every 62 minutes across all competitions for Villa so far this season.

Jhon Duran accepts responsibility for Aston Villa defeat

Despite his impressive form, Duran is yet to start a Premier League game for Unai Emery's side with the Spaniard preferring Ollie Watkins up top.

The Colombia international may have already won over the Villa Park faithful, but he took accountability with a recent Instagram post following their latest defeat.

Villa are once again in the conversation for Champions League qualification this season, sitting in fourth with 18 points from their opening nine league games.

Emery's side will travel to a Tottenham side high on their impressive 2-1 win over Man City in what could be a pivotal Premier League clash on Sunday (November 3).
