Sky Sports News presenter Jim White has boldly claimed that the debate around Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp and Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers may have been put to bed after the Reds’ 5-0 win against Porto on Wednesday.
After failing to match Rodgers’ achievement of a runners-up spot in the Premier League, Klopp has come under scrutiny at Anfield for not building on that project that the Northern Irishman had left behind.
Rodgers was appointed by Celtic in 2016 and has not looked back after winning a domestic treble without suffering a single defeat and breaking a British record unbeaten run.
Klopp on the other hand has struggled to show Liverpool can be a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.
After hammering Porto in a Champions League last-16 clash in Portugal on Wednesday, Rangers-mad White has claimed that Klopp has emerged victorious in the debate and that he is bound to win a trophy in his time at Anfield.
“Has the Jurgen Klopp v Brendan Rodgers debate finally been put to bed? It was a superb performance from Liverpool that proves to me that Klopp is the man to bring major trophies back to Anfield,” he said on his personal Twitter account on Thursday.

Rodgers is now preparing his own European fixture against Zenit at Parkhead on Tuesday night.
The Celtic senior man has made some unexpected changes to his side to match up to the Russian giants, with Scott Sinclair dropping to the bench and Eboue Kouassi starting.
