This is what Joey Barton posted to Rangers on Twitter prior to Celtic clash
By Harvey Byrne
Joey Barton caught many by surprise on Twitter ahead of Rangers’ draw with fierce rivals Celtic on Sunday by sending his support to his former club.
The 34-year-old was forced out of Ibrox prematurely with his contract terminated after just six months at the club following a training ground bust up with Andy Halliday.
He has since returned to Premier League side Burnley and Barton shared on his personal Twitter account on Sunday that he was supporting the Gers ahead of the Celtic Park meeting.
Good luck to the Rangers today…????????

Barton ended his time at Rangers with just eight appearances to his name in total for the club.
Ironically, his final appearance came in September’s 5-1 demolition at the hands of Celtic in September.

However, then manager Mark Warburton has since left the Glasgow giants and that could have played a part in Barton’s message to the club.
The one-time capped England international was the villain to many when he left Ibrox in November.
But, given the performances of his ex-teammates, specifically in the midfield areas alongside messages like this one on social media, he could be forgiven by sections of the Rangers fan base.
