Midfielder Joey Barton has posted “Allez Les Blues” on Twitter ahead of his two old sides meeting on Saturday in Rangers vs Marseille.
The Gers are preparing to host the French giants at Ibrox for the 3.00pm kick-off as the two get ready for their campaigns.
It is a match that has caught the focus of money with two of Europe’s elite meeting each other and of those includes Barton, who spent time at both.
He was most recently a part of the Rangers team, where he had his contract terminated last November and ahead of the match he appeared to show his support for Marseille, using the French translation of “go the blues” on his personal Twitter account.

Of course Rangers are also associated with the colour blue and are themselves nicknamed the ‘light blues.’
But, it is also likely that Barton is using the occasion to take a dig at his old team given the circumstances which saw him leave after just four months.
The experienced midfielder spent the 2012-13 campaign at Marseille after falling out with QPR bosses and he played 33 times in total for the Ligue 1 side, returning one goal and three assists before heading back to the London club.
He is now currently without a club once more after being released by Burnley in May following an 18-month ban for gambling.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has told that Pedro Caixinha would be making a mistake if he did this.
