John Arne Riise: Liverpool should sell 27-year-old in the summer
By Derek Smithson
John Arne Riise believes that Liverpool should sell Daniel Sturridge in the summer to allow him regular football elsewhere.
The 27-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at the Reds under Jurgen Klopp and made just 27 appearances across all competitions last season.
The Chronicle have reported that Newcastle have been offered the chance to sign Sturridge as they look to move on the striker.
Riise was asked on social media by a fan whether the Merseyside club should keep the forward and his response was emphatic.
“Think it’s best for him to go where he can play regularly,” Riise wrote on his personal Twitter account.

Sturridge has become a popular player at Anfield since his arrival in 2013 and scored 61 goals in 119 appearances for the club.
However, he does not match the high intensity pressing style of Klopp and is not considered to be in the best starting line-up.
Liverpool preferred an attacking trio of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane for much of the season.
The forward has 25 international caps for England, but his lack of game time at club level has seen him dropped from the national squad.
Sturridge managed to chip in with seven goals last season despite his lack of minutes and is still considered to be one of the best natural finishers in the Premier League.
In other Liverpool transfer news, they are weighing up a move for a long-term Klopp target.
